SOLARIS FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CHARTERING SUNSEEKER SOLARIS
We understand chartering a yacht can come with lots of questions. We have compiled a FAQ with our most frequently asked questions, however if you do not find what you are looking for please feel free to send us a message in the form below!
-
Can I start or/and end my charter at an alternative Marina?Yes, our advertised charter rates are based on your charter starting and ending in Salterns Marina. However we are able to start at other marinas in Poole, or further along the coast. Please request at the time of booking and we can confirm if there is an additional cost.
-
Are children allowed on board?Yes, we allow children of all ages onboard SOLARIS. However, they remain the sole responsibility of the charter guests. We strongly advise all children to wear lifejackets at all times. It is very important to let us know at the time of booking the number and ages of children, so we can ensure we have the correct safety equipment onboard for your charter.
-
Can I have more than 12 guests on board? No, unfortunately our MCA coding states a maximum of 12 guests plus 2 crew (infants and children are included within the 12 guests). We can look at running a chase boat alongside the Sunseeker, this would then give you the opportunity of having additional guest numbers onboard a second boat, please ask at time of enquiry and we can look into this for you.
-
What Safety Equipment do you have onboard? Our Sunseeker 76 Yacht is fully MCA coded, therefore we have all the latest safety equipment onboard. Life jackets are available for guests to wear throughout the day if they wish.
-
Can I bring my own food and drink on board? No, unfortunately not. All onboard food and drink must be purchased through Solaris Charters. If you are looking for something that we are not advertising on the website, please talk to the team and we will be happy to assist.
-
Can I bring pets onboard? No, unfortunately pets are not allowed.
-
Do I need to bring my own towels? No, we have hand and beach towels onboard which you are welcome to use. We would always suggest bringing an extra warm layer of clothing though.
-
What happens if there is a bad weather forecast?Your Captain will monitor the weather in the lead up to your charter. If there are high winds forecast and it is dangerous for us to operate, we will contact you with as much notice as possible to arrange an alternative date.
-

What is APA?An APA (advanced provisioning allowance) is only applicable on overnight charters. It is used to cover all your expenses whilst onboard the boat (fuel, mooring fees, food, drink etc). An APA is usually 25-30% of the total charter fee and must be paid prior to boarding. An account of all the APA expenses is kept by the Captain and any monies unused will be returned to the primary charter at the end of the charter. .
